Got an interesting project's last pieces in the mail. Mauser in .45 that uses 1911 magazines.

I'll need to look at the chrono and see what an 18" barrel .45 is doing, but I thought it would be ideal to put a can on. So while I'm building the thing, what thread pitch should I cut on the muzzle?

IF, and that is a huge IF, I get the $ for it the can will be my first NFA item. Whee!

That's way cool! Hope you can wrangle a can for it.
You'd need to select a can first then thread the barrel since they are available in a variety of sizes - both metric and inch.

.578"x28 is what my 1911 barrel has on it.
I have heard 16x1LH (metric) is also common.

My Osprey has interchangeable pistons so I can run different thread pitches. Most pistol cans have this option as well.
