Weekday matches

Hopefully i'm posting this in the right place.

are there any matches held during the week, preferably on a monday, thursday or friday evening? my next 4 weekends are chalk full of girls basketball tourneys. I work in Okarche so an evening match held in OKC would be something i could make.

I do not believe that they are any weekday shooting leauges that I am aware of in Oklahoma.

closest thing i can think of would be the evening matches at heartland on the 1st and 3rd sunday and h and h on the 2nd sunday, both matches start at 6 in evening...

i might be able to make a sunday night match. what kind of match is it and what time do they usually get over?

heartland is a carrygun match, basically whatever gun you got will work usually done about 10:00
H and H is a uspsa match, usually done between 9 to 10

excellent! i definitley want to get in the carrygun match. i looked at heartlands website but didnt find much info on it. what do i need in terms of round ct, magazines etc. i'll be shooting a single stack .45.

i also have a ruger lcr. do they have a revolver division or are all carry pistols considered equal in this match? if there are divisions can you shoot in more than one? would i need some speed loaders for my revolver?

Heartland has basic groups, hicap, lowcap, other, revolver, subcompact...its pretty easy to find a group to fall into. And the environment is great, a lot of people just out to have fun and enjoy shooting. you really only need a pistol, holster, mags and mag pouches and yourself.

Later in the spring, Ponca range shoots handgun during the week. Called handgun safari, as all weapons must qualify as legal for deer in okla.

Thanks dennis, my dad has a .44 mag super blackhawk that i'm about to "inherit". i think that should qualify.

kimber ultra carry .45. i've only got two 7 rd mags right now. how many do you think i'll need? i can pick up a couple more this weekend if necessary.

i've also got a brand new ruger lcr .357 that i havent even shot yet but i might leave that one home for another day...

You will need at least 3, better to have 4, best to have 5. Most of the arrays at Heartland are 6 rounds or so and there are usually 3 arrays per stage.

Stick at least 2 on your belt, you can fish the others out of your pockets. A fellow shooter may have some 8 round 45 mags you can borrow.

Make a post to see if anyone out there will have some you could borrow. I had to do it before when I needed extra mags for shooting a .22 pistol and somebody came through for me.

minimum 100 per gun but I usually bring 150

ok, no speedloader needed for revolver, we have people load from pocket, it is a chance to get better with a gun you usually don't compete with, all stages are 18 rounds assuming you don't miss.....
