Below is a link to an auction you might find interesting for the following 2 reasons.
  • Lot 172 is a Jim Clark .38 Special 1911 with extended front sight.
  • Lot 173 is another Clark gun in .38 AMU.
I've handled both of these guns and they are what the description says they are. I don't own either one and have no skin in the game except hoping these pieces of bullseye history find a good home.

The Colt .38 Kit pistol is 1 of only 604 produced.
The Colt .38AMU pistol has a Colt .38 Special Mid Range magazine inserted which leads me to believe its been converted from the un-common .38 AMU (semi-rimmed) cartridge to the common .38 Special. This was a common modification in the day. I have a Colt .38AMU Conversion Unit that has been changed to .38 Special by a previous owner. Only a speculation on my part though. Still a nice and rare model.
