My brother and I put the sneak on and waylaid these turks at the same time. I can't remember the exact lengths, but they were both over 9"
My bird smelled like a day old diaper. When we cut into it, one breast was completely black. Not sure what happened. We didn't observe any previous wounds.
My dad and I were hunting a wheat field with a friend and his grandson. We were setup about 400 yards from a roost.
We watched as the sun came up and the big gobbler got out the roost with about 15 or so hens. He wasn't too worried about our lonely hen and jake decoys. But 5 jakes strolled over to his harem of hens and were chased off by the dominant tom.
Well we hit the call a couple times and got their attention. These 5 jakes came charging on line like they did during the days of trench warfare!!! They were bumping into each other, I'm sure they were claiming their rights to first dibs on the hen decoy.
Well when they got up to the decoys, the kid popped one, and the other 4 just sat there wondering what happened to him. So my dad and I popped two more.
