Yes, it is just for LEO. Unfortunately. You know what that means.....20 guys will show up.

Turn out was as I expected....about 35-40 shooters. Pistol match was won by MSgt Kent Cochran of OCPD, and rifle match was won by MSgt Steve Stoltz of OCPD. Both Steve and Kent are members of OCPD's PPC Pistol Team and both are Tactical Unit snipers. Here is a rundown of what the stages were:

Pistol:
Pistol loaded with 5 rounds. Spare mag with 5 rounds on belt. Target was CLEET standard (5 points for scoring ring in head, 4 points for small scoring ring in body, 3 points for large scoring ring in body).
25 yard line: Draw and fire 10 shots in 20 seconds.
15 yard line: Draw and fire 10 shots in 10 seconds.
7 yard line: Draw and fire 10 shots in 10 seconds.
Top 50% of scorers progressed until Kent was left standing alone.

Rifle:
Unloaded Table top start. On buzzer pick up and load.
100 yard line: 5 pepper poppers. Once all are down proceed to 50 yard line and shoot 4 wide open USPSA targets and one partial USPSA covered with no-shoot. Two hits on each. Then proceed diaganolly to the 25 yard line and engage "threat" targets with 2 shots each. There were 4 targets total, two of which were very tight shoot around the hostages head color targets and one being a non-threat target.
Total scoring was RAW time + 15 second penalty per miss and 20 second penalty for hitting a hostage/no-shoot. Steve shot this in 55 seconds clean.

First prize in each match was a 500 dollar VISA gift card. Beyond that it was goodies (rifle bags, knives, etc) for 2nd and 3rd.

All food (burgers, BBQ, and brawts) and water was provided free, but open to donations. I saw alot of 20 dollar burgers being eaten. In the end I wish there had been a bigger turn out, BUT I'm sure the money we raised for John Waldenville and Chad Peery will be appreciated.

I didn't get to shoot, because I helped set up and design the courses. I worked the rifle match. It was hot, but no one really complained. Well worth my Saturday.

Cochran won?! Was he using his bald head to blind the other participants again? The little leprechaun is evil....as is his BJJ.
