Few times a year the clan gets together and has a shooting competition. 22LR ONLY. Competitions range from shooting specific balloons, tic-tac-toe, , to random numbers on a page, at 25 yard and up to 50 yards. Every bit of it has to be done open sight, no scopes allowed.
My problem is I live in town and have to shoot at a range with a 20 yard max for shooting. That means I'm 5 short of the minimal taget, and 45 yards short of the long shot.
Can anyone give any kind of home grown, my uncle's, friends, 3rd cousin kind of advice to being able to warm up for the competitions?
As it is, I have a zero in at 20 and then try to adjust on the fly for 25 yards, then again at 50. Needless to say this had caused some heartbreaking results on my end.
I'm shooting a Ruger 10-22 lr iron sight, so need to figure out how to setup at 25 yards then again at 50 when 20 yards is the max at practice.
Any suggestions or adivce?
