So I have been thinking about getting into 3 Gun lately and am wondering about what all I would need and the average start up cost. I have seen 3 Gun matches on youtube, but I haven't actually seen one in real life. For start up cost I would want to spend $3,000 or less, but might go a tad over. Also I prefer .223 for the rifle caliber. Please list a good setup along with an estimated price and any experiences you've had with 3 Gun. Thanks.

What firearms do you have currently?

Inexpensive startup kit...
Stag Arms Model 3G -$1400
Burris Tac30 w/PEPR Mount - $360
Glock 34 - $650
2 Ext Base Pads - $60
Blade Tech Holster - $60
Blade tech mag pouch - $30
Benelli M2 - $1150
Nordic mag tube - $80
Welded Lifter $50

Alternatively you can start with a stock $800 rifle like a Stag Model 3. And a shotgun like a beretta 1301, FN SLP, Mossberg JM pro or even a pump action Benelli Nova or super nova.

I've got a Remington versa Max for sale on here. It is a good shotgun for 3 gun and already has the mag tube on it. Also have an xdm 5.25 9mm that I was shooting before getting a 2011 that I might part with. Pm me if interested. I would shoot irons on the rifle for starters. That can save you money and let you get into a better rifle. The stag 3g would be a good start and then you can change out things as you go

Thanks for the response and advice. Currently I don't own any firearms that would do good in a 3 Gun match, but I am looking into buying a Stag Arms Model 3G, Rock River or DPMS rifle. I have a M&P pro 9mm already with a good set of sights on it. For the shotgun I am going to look into the Benelli M2 some more. Thanks for the info.

M&P 9 pro is an Awesome gun for 3 gun. I still use one myself.
Get the Stag 3G and a Benelli M2 then send the M2 to C-rums for the welded lifter and get the nordic extension tube from makereadyproshop.com

Then you need to decide which way you want to load the shotgun. There are several ways to check out in the 3 gun section here.
Good luck with your search and welcome to the addiction.

If you already have the M&P pro that frees up $700 to buy more shotgun accessories, optics or mags and pouches.

Rock River doesn't make a 3 gun rifle. Not saying they don't have one that is close just ask here before you buy something that looks cool. DPMS does make a 3G. So does Colt Competition, Double Star and JP Enterprises.

I have the colt competition rifle with vortex viper optic and a SD3G trigger very happy with it so far.

Thanks for the advice and info. I will probably get a Stag 3G and a Benelli M2 since everybody runs Benelli's. I am still looking at optics and pouches.

They must have polled a bunch of top 3 gun shooters to come up with that 2 stage trigger in their 3 gun rifle. DOH!
.....an AR Gold is a two-stage, Jesse. The RRA 2 stage is actually a pretty good trigger, that's what I used for years before I got a JP.

Its called a two stage. It feels like a single stage with take up.

There is actually a certificate for a that scope mount for sale in the classified section underneath firearm parts, gear, and ammo section for $100.
