Tales of the Gun was a series on the History channel a while back. I found the full episodes on Youtube, http://www.youtube.com/user/Primeda/videos?view=0 and I've been enjoying watching them. Here's a list of the episode names, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tales_of_the_Gun I just copy/paste the episode titles into the search channel box to find them. I find the M-16 episode very interesting, it has footage of Eugene Stoner from an interview in the video archives at the Smithsonian and they talk about the resistance the military had to adopting the AR platform.
They have an episode about John Browning, Guns of infamy 1&2, and my daughter's favorite, Million Dollar Guns. Some exquisite and rare designs in that one.

The one on the Luger was great, and the one on Japanese weaponry was very enlightening too. Thank God they weren't at the same technology level as the Germans or USA at the time! Otherwise, I think the war in the pacific would have taken a lot longer at the very least. Your daughter has good taste, my wife and I loved the million dollar guns episode. Guns of the bizarre was definitely amusing!

Hell, they're all pretty darn good!!!

EDIT:

For the record, they are showing two blanks on the list. I believe I know what they are:

The Guns of Beretta
Rockets and Missiles

I watched them both not too long ago.
