So I am new to this whole subsonic stuff so some questions may seem stupid. Can you make a 22-250 sub load that would still work to around 250/300 yards and still put a hole in something?
Or 30-06
762 Ak ammo
223
I need something quiet,! but still pack a good punch, and not going to get any 300blk. I would like to use something that I already have.

its called 22lr.

Unless you can figure out how to get about 300grns into a .22 caliber bullet, don't bother.

Yes, you can sub a .223, but it'll most likely make your rifle a single shot and you won't have the punch you need for hunting.

Your best bet with that Omega suppressor is a .308 bolt gun.

doubt it'd have much ass behind it at that distance if loaded subsonic, but who knows.
Best bet is 30cal, Lots more bullet.

My suggestion would have been 300 Blackout. Suppressed, subsonic is where it really seems to shine.

Doesn't matter what the caliber or weight is, the speed of sound is 1125 feet per second, so you have to work within that.
I'm not even sure what you mean by this.

Nobody is arguing the speed of sound.
I'm trying to tell him if he loads a 55/69grn bullet subsonic, at the 200yrd mark it will have very little energy left.
However, a bullet with much more mass (say 300grns) will retain much more energy at the 200yrd mark when loaded subsonic.

If he's set on .22cal, just use 22lr.

You were looking at the trees and missed the forest. I was essentially agreeing with you. My "work within that" point was to get something with mass because that's the only way you can get any range at all out of such a low velocity. Your .223 example is about like a 9mm if you think about it. Nobody wants to shoot a deer or yote at 200 yards with a 9mm, and that's pretty much what you would be doing with subsonic .223.

I was actually going to say .458 SOCOM but .300BO has way more aerodynamic bullets available, cheaper, etc. But .458s do have that thump doh!

I am trying to get my 30-30 lever gun finished. I will be trying to keep the rounds as close to subsonic as possible and still thump deers.

Speaking of 9mm at distance. I was figuring out some holds with my 9mm the other day & shooting 147s zeroed at 25yrds my the drop at 100 was about 14".

I was shooting the 200 yard gong with my 7" barreled 9mm AR a couple weeks back and had to hold about 12ish feet high.

Out of curiosity was it gamer loads or something like factory?

My 147gr USPSA loads are dead on at 7 and dead on at 50 out of my 9 Pro. Everything in between I have to hold low. Never shot them past 50.
