The "Geechee Gunfighters" will host the Single Action Shooting Society's Southeastern Regional Championship match, the "Gunfight at Givhan's Ferry 2014" at the Palmetto Gun Club near Summerville from Thursday November 6 through Sunday November 9. For detailed information check out the website: http://givhansferry.homestead.com/
Thursday begins with optional "side matches" including a black powder match in the morning and a Wild Bunch Action Shooting side match after lunch.
Friday and Saturday are the "main match stages". If you are interested in cowboy shooting, the main match stages are representative of what we shoot in our monthly matches. I always recommend the "main match" days to visitors.
Sunday morning is the wrap up with cowboy church, a salute to our veterans, main match awards and the top shooter invitational "shootoff".
We are fortunate to have the Regionals in our state. The Palmetto Gun Club is very spectator friendly and there are no hills to climb as you stroll between the shooting bays. No charge for spectators; "eyes and ears" are required to enter the area of the shooting bays. There is also a well attended vendor area, usually with some good deals on reloading components and shooting accessories in addition to cowboy stuff. Think of it as a gun show with no admission charge.
Post a reply here or send me a PM if you have any questions. I'm looking at my schedule to determine whether I am able to shoot the main match or at least "day trip" down to watch some of my friends shoot.
If any forum members make it out to the match I'd appreciate your posting a reply with your impressions.
