sooo I want an AR type rifle

With a trust, when you die, it passes to a benificiary you dictate at no cost because the firearm belongs to the trust not you, you just happen to own the trust.

Personal, you don't dictate who gets it & whoever does get it has to pay a $200 tranfer fee or surrender the weapon for destruction.

An AR build is relatively easy. A search on YouTube will produce multiple videos of guys building and unbuilding them. If you out for a cheap AR you can buy a sub $700 DPMS sportical or something similar just about as cheap as it costs to buy the tools.

Yeah my problem is coming up with that much at once and then justifying the purchase to the spouse .... but if im buying relatively cheap parts (Even this would probally take 12-24 months) I could eventually get one ....

I just need a new job :P

I built both of my AR's a piece at a time by getting one part per paycheck.
I have my .223, a 9mm SBR and now I'm working on a dedicated .22
It takes a little time but its worth it in the end and there's less fights with the other half.

Check out Bravo companys website for things like a bolt carrier group and lower parts kits. Actually, go with them for all the pieces, just buy one thing at a time.

I will speak to the configuration of a basic stick and let the Class 3 guys steer you down that path.

A good outlet is palmettostatearmory.com Those guys have pretty good deals and you can go a couple of routes with them. You can either buy a lower and then a rifle kit with everything you need to turn that lower into a rifle (parts kit and assembled upper of many varieties) or you can buy the lower and then do the rest a little at a time. If you go this route (lower, parts kit, stock kit, upper, and so on) check out Joe Bob's on the sponsor page for your parts. They have pretty good prices on the various parts and stock kits plus they give BSers a 5% discount. Their shipping is also quick as hell.

Whatever you do I would start as soon as your budget will allow. As we creep through the summer into election season, the prices will march upward. From what I've seen they have already begun to do so.

As an aside, I just built a Palmetto rifle from a lower I got last summer and the process is incredibly easy. I bought one of their kits and did the lower assembly myself. With plenty of jaw-jacking in the midst of the assembly it took about an hour. Watch the Brownells videos, use the right tools, and you can't go wrong.

I was afraid of price increses. I'm not sure I can even afford to get started on one yet. This makes me sad.
