I have to right-size my expectations. I have too many kids to outfit to get what I want in a reasonable time frame. So, would I see good return for my investment by adding a comp, and installing the JP yellow springs that I have, (and bobbing hammer), on my Stag carbine?

Yes, the comp will help with follow up shots & reducing the trigger pull will help with accuracy on long range targets.

Considering I'm shooting a stock 16" barrel, what comp should I consider? Can I install and tune it myself? I saw a lady shooter at the ProAm that had one shooting flames out right side about 2 feet. I won't lie, I thought it was the coolest thing I saw all week. But it probably isn't what I need. Dammit.

Rolling Thunder or SJC Titan
I am running the Miller Hammerhead and I like it. I believe it is a lot like the Rolling Thunder and the Titan.
I have used and the kid uses the Miculek. doesn't shoot as flat as my hammerhead, but it is a good comp for the coin.

Most of what I see at Tulsa and a few of the other matches are the 2 Wall listed.

That was probably a rolling thunder. Easy to install and tune.

Peel washers or a crush washer. Both are cheap. Peel washers are cheaper per use, but they're ugly. No one seems to notice them on my gun, though.
