Does anyone shoot this range? From what I understand it is a series of stations with various shooting challenges set up, basically golf with shotguns. I was wondering if it is possible to go through it with a rem 870 and very little knowledge of shotgunning?

I shot sporting clays there once for a charity event. I shot my 20" barrel CZ 712. I was wishing I had a more suitable shotgun for the shoot but it was still a ton of fun. The facilities are very nice with some very challenging stations. You should try it. I'd like to go again sometime.

Pump gun is fine. All of the targets are report pairs. The second clay is not thrown until you fire at the first one.

Do I need to have prior knowledge of the sport before going, or are people or instructions at each station to explain the course of fire?

Instructions at each station. They will give you a key to turn on each station.

If you tell them your a first timer, they usually send someone with you to the first station.
