So I have a complete lower that I built a while back, and I have been slooooooowly saving up for an upper, however, at what most uppers cost these days, it seems I can get a pretty decent complete rifle. Should I sell the lower and just apply that to a full rifle?

When I need extra cash for an assembly session and I am tired of running around the house making the pew pew sound with 2 cocker spaniels as my COD attack dogs, I will head down to the truck stop and shake the money maker at the "Stankie Leg Tavern and Bait Shop".

But seriously, I would keep it. You likely have more invested in it than you could turn it for in this current market. Especially if you have dumped coin on a match trigger.

So that's why you're called the "Beto Junction Princess"...

You really can't make money on lowers these days unless you went with top notch parts, and you find a buyer who wants those exact top notch parts. With the political field leaning more towards Republicans at least for this next election, I don't expect another panic for a while that would allow you to make much off of it.

Here's what I think happened: after Obamarama 1, lowers got really scarce because ZOMG DEMOCRATS. Then, leading up to the inevitable Obamarama 2: Electric Boogaloo, everyone stocked up on lowers because they thought stripped lowers would be the currency of post-Obamapocalyptic America.

So now everyone has a bajillion lowers that they're going to build something on when they get around to it. Ergo, henceforth, heretofore, there isn't really much of a seller's market for lowers.

I got an email from one of the gun shops I buy from (can't remember which one) that was offering stripped Spike's lowers for $65 for the 4th of July sale. You can't compete with that.
