Shot timer

Tony has the CED7000 Shot-Activated Timer for $119. Everyone seems to like them and most have one in their range bag

I always liked the big clunky Pocket Pro Shot timer like every club in America used. If those things will last under that kind of abuse, they have to be pretty good. They are about the same price. You can find them on eBay sometimes for a little less.

Are there any timers that vibrate with the force of a 8.0 earthquake?

If cell phones can, why not timers?
Because they sell close to twice as many cell phones per year as they do shot timers.

We've got both, I haven't decided which I like better,

however the PPll has larger display numbers,

which in my aged condition is a plus.

All shot timers are terrible.

PocketPros have a clunky user interface. They're also huge. But they have a big display that's easy to read, and an integral belt clip.

CED7000s are compact and have a much better user interface, but the display washes out in the sun and the battery life sucks (fine for practice but tends to run short in matches for me). It only comes with a wrist strap that is basically useless; if you want a belt clip or wrist strap you have to buy them separately.

I have a CED7000 because it is the Least Bad Optionâ"¢.

The CED picks up .22lr better, thats about all I know.
Yes. The RO doesn't have to chase the barrel around to record the times.

I need to take the flash suppressor off of my Nordic upper, and put a bad assed brake on it just for the timers.

We are adding a corvette comp from makereadyproshop.com this week just for reason. It seemed to have a lot less problems with being picked up at the steel challenge this past weekend

Rusty had a Tacsol upper with just a thread protector bushing on his .22 this last weekend, no comp of any kind. The pocket pro picked it up without any problems, which I was surprised by. Usually it's like Dennis said, you have to chase the muzzle around to get any shots registered.

You should try a Shotmaxx

You had me at big easy to read interface. Pocket Pro part deux. Hopefully I'll be able to read it without taking off my glasses.

I've only ever had 2 instances where either timer wouldn't pickup the shot.
Both are set around the middle of sensitivty.
1: PPll a guy was using a can, I had to hold the timer about 1' away, basically right by HIS ear.
2: CED7000, in a downpour rain storm, water got in the mic, (I assume) I shook it out HARD, it worked fine again.
