Shooting a major match in a division you are unclassed in?

So I'm looking at signing up for the double tap match and the area 4 match. So far I've been shooting production but really want to make the switch to limited or limited 10. With my work schedule I don't think I'll be able to shoot enough classifiers to actually get classified in either of those. Would it be crazy to shoot a major match in a division you are unclassified in?

In production right now I'm in C class but one decent classifier should bump me up to B.

Any thoughts and/or suggestions?

You hit one of my concerns right there, I'd hate to spend the time/money to shoot a major match and not even have the (remote) chance of coming home with trophy.

the bad thing about "U" is you may be shooting against a guy who's "U" in limted but a "GM" in production.
It's just wide open, which is why I don't like it.

Good point, I'd sure prefer to get classified before then but not sure how things will work out

Ponca will be having a classifier match in March. Get classified in as many divisions as you want all in one month,one place.

Ponca gave trophies for U at our sectional.

Ponca has a classifier match in March for this reason.
