Im needing to ship ammo to the FN match. Let me know what the process is. Do I need to call the hotel and tell them its coming? How much extra do I send and how do I get back home? Tell me all the details. Thanks

You need to bring it to a UPS center (not one of those stores in a strip mall) - google and look for a Small Arms ORM-D label - print it out and paste it to the box. Shipping to the hotel will probably work - in the past I've shipped to match directors or a store that I knew someone would hold it for me. Last time I shipped ammo it was about 2k and it cost me like $35. If you are flying you can bring 11lbs of ammo with you - honestly i've only known of 1 airport (little rock) to actually weigh ammo - just if they ask you have under 11lbs :)

I always ship to the hotel. If you can't get to a hub like Brandon said you can pay like $8 extra for a driver to pick it up. Most shipping cost is usually $25-35. I always guess low on the actual weight if my box. If it's way off us catches it. You can have between 5-11 lbs in your checked bags depending on the airline and the uninformed counter against assisting you but it must be in the original packages. Or at least thats what they want to hear. I usually tape my checked baggage ammo up good and tape it together. Some guys tell me you ca. have your PMags loaded with ammo as long as you have those little covers that come with them in the top of the full mags. Must be true cause I had full mag once with no covers and TSA taped paper over the top of the mags for me. I ship or pack a small role of packaging tape to use to box up or tape together the extra ammo after the match. You can ship ammo to the match in a big box with a smaller box Inside for return shipping. You can also bring with you a return label and leave the package with the hotel desk for ups. They will be by the hotel dropping something off eventually. If you only have a little ammo left after the match you can take it in your checked bags or do like I do and use it all up in the long range stages and have to beg borrow and steal enough to finish the match.

Give me a call if you have any questions Jeff. It's pretty easy just cost $.
