My buddies told me the sandies have started hitting at Kaw Lake early and late. I was off Friday, so took the boat out to see if I could find them right at daylight.
My new to me mega lake blaster (14' aluminum) boat and a buddy hit the lake at 0600, ripping across the lake at warp speed (maybe 20mph)
to my fav spot. Nothing.
Decided to Try another spot and got into them in shallow water feeding on some shad. Total fun for awhile, then they quit. Ended up with 8 sandies, and one channel cat. The biggest sandy was 2 3/4 lbs. They get big on Kaw.
