Here's a cool site with a bunch of videos and pics from the meteor this morning in Russia. Spaceweather.com says it is unrelated to the 45 meter meteor flying by today but that it was probably around 10 tons. Easy to imagine what a 45 meter rock would do if 10 tons blows out a large area of windows and collapses a building.

Some of those videos were awesome! Had I seen that in person I would have stopped breathing just knowing I was about to see a mushroom cloud arise at the terminus of the trajectory. Glad the Russkies didn't mistake it for an inbound ICBM.

Wild! Thanks for posting.

That is the first thing I thought as well.

Blame North Korea or Iran, then perhaps Putin will help solve some of the worlds problems instead of us for once!

A Russian Duma (Parliament) member, Vladimir Zhirinovsky, has alleged that the meteor was actually a US weapon test.

Those were not meteorites, it was Americans testing their new weapons

It unnerves me that nations like the US and Russia, both stocked with thousands of nukes, each have tons of morons in charge of their nations.
