I looked at one at the Sportsman Warehouse in Columbia today...They told me they are made in Turkey.

I like the looks of the one I looked at. It was pretty tight and the workmanship looked good. It was the GI model with black plastic grips....but...the price was great. $415.00...I almost bought it just because of the price...

I remember when everyone talked trash about the Rock Island...I got one of those...It turned into one of the best 1911's I ever had...(It Was No Kimber)....This one looked a lot like the Rock Island...

Yeah, Springfields are made in Croatia now as well. They seem to sell fine. Like fordnut said, for that price why not go for it!

Then you can show off pics of it for us and give us a review as well. ;)

The XDs are, but they weren't truly a Springfield design anyway. The 1911s are still made in the USA from Brazilian Frames. I could be wrong, it's happened before, but that is my understanding.

True enough. It seems like lots of countries are producing firearms or components of them for parent companies in the USA. As long as quality holds up they seem to sell ok. Nobody wants to buy unsafe firearms!

Still haven't had anyone on that has a Regent, somebody on here must have one!
