anyone have first hand experience on the PSA PTAC line. Specifically the complete uppers. The prices are really tempting. Hear a lot of concerns about finish and what not on other sights. Looking for first hand knowledge, not really concerned about finishes just solid machining.

A friend of mine bought one of the ptac uppers about 6 months or so ago. A basic carbine. He says he has 4000 rounds through it without a single hiccup.

I will probably never put that many rounds through a single rifle, so for me it would be fine I'm sure.

For accuracy, he says it's decent, on par with the price point.

No no. Sorry.

What I was trying to say was for the money, he says it's great, accuracy included.

i dont think the PTAC is chrome lined so its will be at least $50 cheaper.

the ad says expected to group within mil spec. sounds like its a little different.

PTAC is the very bottom of their line. Cheap parts, some made in China stuff, no chrome lined bbls, etc.

For a beater trunk gun or plinker, sure, might be ok.

Otherwise I'd wait for a sale and buy an actual PSA branded product. I have been very happy with the PSA quality.

It seems that when they have a good sale on a PTAC upper, the PSA upper that is comparable is only about $50 more.

I've seen some PTAC LPKs... really gritty triggers. On the other hand, I have a PTAC M-16 bolt carrier - it looks fine, and I can't tell the difference between that, my PSA one, and my Colt one.
