Hey guys & gals, need some info regarding the legality of shooting in my neighbor's backyard...
He invited me to come play with some shotguns. We're in a culdesac but outside any city limits and his backyard faces a giant cornfield. Is it legal? I want to try out my new shotgun plus my .45 but don't want to go to jail...
Thanks in advance and sorry if this is common knowledge, I've just never shot anywhere besides an indoor range.

its greenville county, I'm just alittle paranoid about doing it, don't wanna break any laws ya know?

the game warden could say you are hunting dove over bait.

he and some friends came onto our property. he said a plane had seen a blue 55 gal drum, although it had been there for 2 years prior to them seeing it. he told my wife, we were both deer hunting, that it was bear season and they thought we might be baiting them. they came and found me and his buddys were scouring they area looking for something illegal i guess but we dont do that. deer are so easy i think people that cant get them without cheating are stupid.

it was kind of funny. a great big guy, creaping down the hill, wearing an orange vest and his camoed buddys, junior wardens i guess. i didnt know who it was so i called my wife to let her know. she was in a treehouse/hunting blind. she said he poked around a minute, then she said "can i help you?" his responce was "where are you?" he had passed me but i was about 35 ft up a tree, never saw me.

Tigerstripe, are you planning to attend the council meeting on Monday eve? I'm gonna be there just so I can get a feel for how those things go.

If it's a cornfield, that is to say that the corn actually grew or is growing there...it's not baiting. Only if you were to bring corn in from somewhere else and place it on the property can it be considered baiting.

no, i live in Spartanburg county. it would take a mint to get there in my F-250 10 cylinder 4x4. look at another post. someone asked if anyone was going.

just sayin about the game warden, i think they can streach the truth a little. well it was bear season.
