OSU SGA sent out this note to various organizations. I encourage anybody to show up and everybody who ever has or will step foot on campus to vote on the issue.

As your representative in SGA I want to invite you to an open discussion on Concealed Carry on Campus. This discussion will take place on February the 16th (Next Wednesday), in the Conoco Phillips Alumni Center Jones Room at 7pm.

As you may know legislation has been introduced in the Oklahoma Legislature to allow concealed carry on campus. SGA will be taking an official stance on concealed carry which will represent the student body’s wish on this matter. It is extremely important for you voice your opinion at this discussion, not only will most of SGA be present but a host of administrators, OSUPD representatives, and faculty representatives.

Also, here is a survey on concealed carry: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/LMCTKWJ . We've received some great feedback thus far, and this will provide statistics for Senate's recommendation on concealed carry.

Again I urge you to come and bring your friends to the Conoco Phillips Alumni Center Jones Room at 7pm next Wednesday, be prepared to let your voice be heard. Thanks, enjoy the snow.

Good luck. Here is one OSU Alum and Oklahoma Police Chief who is totally in favor of concealed carry on campus!

The meeting was very lively. The OSU branch of the Students for Concealed Carry on Campus was very organized. Of those debating against campus carry, I heard a lot of opinions spawning from misunderstanding and misinformation. For example, "If Jared Laughner had his CHL, how can I trust other licensed carriers?" Mayor Nathan Bates was a pro-gun speaker who noted that many students carry a gun for self defense as is. One anti-gun student reporter asked something to the essence of "Have you ever seen one of these guns on campus? No? Then how can you operate under this false pretense?" All in all I saw the pro-gun arguments as more strongly defended.

Thats funny, a professor against concealed carry said no police chief in the state would want students to carry guns on campus.

Most police chiefs might prefer not to need warrants to search and not to need probable cause to stop but that does not make it right.

Perhaps the professor needs to examine the facts rather than apply liberal media stereotypes. Have the Prof check out:
