Red dots are red dots. Its the positioning that I hated. My last was positioned forward like a Cmore. Never lost the dot. The Burris is positioned in place of the rear site on a fixture designed to fit the rear slot dove tail.

the viper or venom can be mounted to a pic rail

Yeah, the Burris Fast fire III can too, but I had too much money in my pocket and decided to try the rear sight cut mount for a cleaner look. I'll be going back to the factory supplied rail.
