News & Plans:

• We’ve received a lot of questions about resuming 3-Gun matches. We believe that the matches will be able to resume later this year. They were postponed due to the work schedules of those involved in running the matches. We hope to announce their return later in 2014.
  
• The rifle range on the north end of the range is permanently closed and will be replaced with one or more pistol bays in the coming months. We are exploring other options for providing some steel targets intended for rifle use at longer distances (100 yards and maybe beyond) but at this time no solution has been identified.
  
• You may or may not have noticed, but a permanent 5-stand facility is in the process of being constructed on the west side of the former black powder range. That range should be up and running as a part of the shotgun division in the coming months. If you haven’t ever tried 5-stand you should. It is a lot like sporting clays, but without the long walk. Please welcome the folks who will be driving thru our range on the way to 5-stand who may not have ever seen our style of shooting sports.
  
• You may have noticed that the pad for the new building has been poured. Shortly, the building will be assembled, along with the much-needed shade covers for the north bays. Once the basic structure is in place, we will be holding some work days to finish it out, and get set up and operational. At that time we will primarily be using the northern bays for regular matches.
  
• Lastly, we are finalizing plans to host an Oklahoma Sectional match on the first Saturday in September, in lieu of our normal IPSC match. Details to follow soon.

This is an exciting time for the Oklahoma City Gun Club as we construct many new facilities for all of the shooting sports. All of these range improvements are funded primarily thru the annual dues of our club members as well as thru the match fees paid by competitors like you.

Our next IPSC match will be February 1st.
