Of the rifles on the list....

I would suggest the Arsenal AK. I know, I know. Big surprise, given my screen name...

Mr. Robinson of Robinson Arms has "shown his ass" on other online forums and has alienated his fanbase by detailing how he will deliberately throttle back progress on warranteed or other work on your gun if you call, email or otherwise distract or aggravate him by putting your work order at the back of the line.

Kel-Tec's RFB, as stated by HHB Guns, is quite expensive and is not "mainstream" enough for my (and others') comfort levels as far as "working out the kinks" or "beta testing" is concerned. I never buy first generation iterations of machinery or electronics as I don't appreciate being a "final phase product tester" using my hard-earned dollars.

Fabrique-Nationale, while an awesome and world-reknown manufacturer, has almost zero patience for American commercial markets. While this is likely due to the same reason as Heckler & Koch's disdain for our finicky and whimsical civilian gun laws, the fact remains that many people with FN products report almost non-existent customer service for their bought-brand-new rifles, specifically the FS-2000 and P90.

Arsenal, while not on the "I love American civilian markets" bandwagon, at least makes a consistently superior product for a lot less money than all others in consideration. Add in the fact that 7.62 x 39 is cheaper than all other calibers considered, along with $9 brand new, all-steel, indestructible magazines that can be bought until your wallet bleeds, equitable after-market add-ons to make an "AR-15-esque updated AK" with respect to forearm rails, alternative safety selectors, sights, buttstocks, grips, muzzle devices, et al... you'll save tons of money and still be able to fulfill pretty much every criteria you can reasonably have of your selection.

I urge you to look at the AK Section of AR15.com for the variety of upgrades and choices in modification to the base Arsenal AK. Even with adding a rail, optic, SureFire and a VFG you will come in under the prices of your other choices save for the XCR.

If you are looking for an investment and something you can find ammo for, I have the ticket for ya.
