NEWS MEDIA ON SHOOTINGS

First off greetings from the big town of Shattuck Oklahoma, does anyone think that if the media quit making such a spectacle of these school shootings (which is a tragedy) that these idiots would quit trying to make a name for themselves before they commit suicide, I have to blame a lot of these shootings on the media coverage, if they would just quit making such a big deal out of it idiots would quit trying to be the villan!!!!!!!!!!!

A good old fashioned suicide doesn't get the guy that never had attention any attention so if they quit getting the attention the so desperately want they will just go back to a lone suicude.

I totally agree, and put the full blame on the media for sensationalizing these events. It does cause copy cat actions as the shooters want to leave a legacy. In our little town of Ponca, there is no reference of any gang activity's reported in the local paper. They are reported as individual incidents, and nothing else. No pics of wanna-be's etc. Sure it goes on. No heads buried in the sand around here, but its not reported on ad-naseum.
