My JMPRO 930 has... not been a good shotgun for me. Purchase the Stoeger m3k after the southeastern regional where my 930 turned into a bolt action. The m3k has been a great shotgun, but I wanted to upgrade so I got a Browning A5 and handed it down to my son. You can be competitive with an m3k for about 700.

thanks for the info guys!
$600-700 is my range id like to be in and preffer new as compared to a used up used model... but there is good deals on used dont get me wrong.

If you can find a used M1 that is the way to go. If not then the stoeger as has already been mentioned. Whichever one you decide on, if you find yourself having spent significantly less than $1000 ready to go, you are most probably going to be disappointed. There is no free lunch in 3 gun.

If you want new I would go with a stoger 3000 or the M3K model. With a little TLC they seem to be the go to entry level gun by far. To many issues with the JM Pro to recommend it over the 3000. If you are patient you can sometimes find used M2's for under 1k. I got a lightly used one for $830 on gunbroker earlier this year.

understand there is no free lunch !, just don't want to spend all my lunch money in 1 spot while getting into it ... will get there eventually as It progresses.. and I realize where I want to advance to the next level.

I definitely understand where you are coming from. Just be careful not to spend twice as much money trying to get to where you want to be. Buy once, cry once is a lesson most of us have had to learn the hard way.

M1s on the used mkt are primarily from hunters who've put maybe a few hundred to 1k rounds through them. Once you buy it for 3gun you'll be putting that through it a month. Don't be wary of a used M1, many of them are practically new in 3gun terms.

I've bought used M1's for $580-$750. I would pay more then $750 because you can find used M2's for $850-950 and the comfortech stock is worth the extra $100-200 imho.

I shot my first 3 gun match in April and have been hooked since.

I was intent on buying once, crying once, but my gunsmith had a buddy with an M3000 that he did the work on. The guy wasn't using it so he sold it to me for $750. It had the extended tube on it, port work done, trigger job, and some other stuff that I can't remember.

I shot it all year and it's great. I've only had a couple malfs, but those were due to crappy ammo, or me being a doofus and causing a double feed.

If I had to do it again, I'd grab the M3K, and drop it off for some minor tuning.

I'll keep shooting my Stoeger until I get around to upgrading to the M2. That's last on my list though right after an STI DVC.

The one shotgun you don't want is the JM930. Whenever I see people malfing like crazy, it's usually one of those, or an open shotgun lol.

Thanks for all the responses, and welcome wishes !!!
I plan to stay away from mossberg, since i've had issues with there firearms in the past...
Hope everyone has a great Christmas !!!
