Hello,

I was told by a few guys on OKShooter that this was the place to be if I wanted info on 3gun? I'm thinking about getting into the sport but have no idea where to start, what to use, or where to go and practice?

yes, this is a Great place to start. Welcome aboard, Glad to have you with us.
Read up a little & ask questions. You'll find a lot of info & group of folks that'll go out of their way to help.

There is a 3gun State Sectional (Championship) Match at USSA in Tulsa this weekend. It's a 2 day-12 stage match. If you have a chance, you should come out & check out some of the action. You might be able to answer a few questions. It's free to watch, you just need to make sure you bring eye & ear protection.

Welcome, I think these guys might be the neg. influence on you once you start shooting with them :D

OKCGC is the best place to get your feet wet for 3-Gun.

Do you shoot any other competitive events? We have some other really great matches ion the area to try out if you don't already do so

Welcome to the party! What type of guns do you have for 3 gun now?

Burk hit the nail on the head. Since there isn't a 3 gun match at OKC gun club this month you should bring your pistol out to heartland Sunday night and get your feet wet in an action Shooting match. The sooner you can start shooting matches the better. Shooting Some 1/3 gun matches make the transition to 3 gun much easier on the nerves.

If you need any guns or gear let us know. We all have way too many a d we are all willing to help a newbie out.

Check out my YouTube channel in my signature for videos of the many matches around the state and country.

damn JT, you on your phone & driving again......LOL

I thought your nephew hooked you up & you had SIRI taking care of you now

I have never shot in any kind of comp outside of ROTC in highschool. To be honest I don't even know where to begin as far as what weapon system to use or what accessories I need? I shoot a lot on the weekends (almost every weekend) mostly 100 yrds with AR-15 / 5, 7, 10, and 15 yrds with pistol / and LOTS of skeet.

RIFLES: Noveske N4 with Aimpoint H1 Micro and 3X mannifier, Primary Weapons System (piston driven upper) / Noveske (lower) with troy flip up battle sights, Bushmaster ACR with vortex sparc and troy flip up sights.

Shotguns: Remington 1100 comp with Nordic Components tube extension and burris speed bead red dot & Mossberg 930SPX with Nordic Components tube extension and vortec sparc

Handguns: XD tactical .45 with PRP drop in trigger kit and 2 canonc creek mag extension / XDM 9mm (5.25") with fiber optic front sight, adjustable rear sight, prp ultimate trigger job, pistol gear flared magwell, 4 canon creek extended mags (24+1), and Viridian X5L / XDM .45 (4.5") with prp ultimate trigger job, 16lbs recoil spring, Trijicon night sights, and polished barrel and internals.

Here is what I would like to run:

Pistol: XDM 9MM (5.25")
Shotgun: Remginton 1100 COMP
Rifle: Noveske n4

Tripple the distance on the rifle, they like to stick those plates out to 300+ yards on some 3gun, (I haven't shot much three gun most of my comp has been pistol) also shoot your pistol out to 30-40 yards I assure you there are plenty of stage desingers out there that want to remind you of the skills you didn't practice by sticking a 6-8 inch plate at 25-30 yards. The shotgun is mostly about reloading. So learn a way and get fast at it.

Hope to see you around.
