For all military veterans, and/or anyone who has visited the USMC Base, Camp Lejeune, in North Carolina... The place is MASSIVE! I don't what it is about the Marines, but they have the best stuff! Man, they have rifle ranges out to 800 meters or something like that (whatever my son-in-law and his buddies had said....)
My daughter (and older 3yr old granddaughter) called me and said, "Hey, are you busy? Come on down, this weekend!" My 3yr old granddaughter, got on the phone and said, "Papa, I miss you! Come visit".
Well... That was it... Next thing I remember was I packed a suitcase, grabbed my necessities, and was on I-95 south heading towards Rocky Mount and Wilson, veering off onto 795/70 bypass to 258, etc.. etc... and meandering through small towns and then WHAM! Welcome to Camp Lejeune, USMC Base! You have to give credit to the Marines! When they want to build a base, they do it up big time! Camp Lejeune is MASSIVE! I mean like, this place is a whole entire city within itself, tucked away in the middle of a swamp in eastern North Carolina!
Getting to the point: I had to chance to finally bond with my 2nd borne granddaughter (now 6 months old), where she can now mentally look around, understand, and see who is who. She is so adorable and like my other granddaughter will have my wrapped around her finger soon enough!
