Needing some advice on which one to go with?

I recently got the Remington 7005R in .300win mag
I am wanting an optic to give me the capabilities to shoot out 1,000 yards.
Right now I am looking at Trigicon Accupoint scopes the TR23-2 to be exact with the green mil dot.

Can some one teach me about the magnification specs? The 2 I have found are 2.5x10x56 and 5x20x50 what are the differences between the two? Any advantages of one over the other?

Thanks in advance also if anyone can reccomend other scopes to achieve what I want I am all ears.

Only this it doesnt answer for me is what does it take to see 1,000 yards? Would I be ok with a 2.5x10x56? or should I spend the extra bucks to get the other.

300 Win Mag is a long range round. You would likely not ever need that low bottom end of 2.5x. 10x top end is low for 1000 yds. I would even say 20x may be marginal. Maybe you should invite some friends with scopes to your 1000 yd range.

I can see pretty well at 20x with my 300 win mag at 600 yards. Have not had it anywhere longer to test......

Don't have the 1,000 yard range yet but I want the capability for it for bragging rights. If you guys knew me, you would know I have spent way too much money "just cause" haha

You should have gone with the .338 Lapua, in that case. And a Nightforce scope.

Then again, if you are not going to actually shoot 1000 yards, just get a cool looking scope.

Sorry, couldn't resist. But seriously, for longer ranges you really want the power way up there > 20. The compromise is the higher magnification bottom end, i.e. you won't be able to find your target on the close shots. A really cool scope fr long range is the Burris Eliminator.
