I'm looking to move from electronic hearing muffs to electronic "in ear" protection and wanting to know if any of you guys use them. If so, what brand and what you like or dislike about them. If you have used others why did you switch. Any info will be greatly appreciated.

Surefire EP7 defenders. They were the only ones I could find that blocked the sound of my comps on my rifle and Open pistol inside of a bay, but still alow me to hear normal speach. The foam is replacable and they come with an extra set of foam for $15. They last me around 6 months on average.

Do those stay in your ears without much hassle?

Be very careful about what you buy for hearing protection. Dig past the manufacturers claims and see what they actually produce in testimonials, and reviews.
You could end up with some ear jewelry worn 16 hours a day that you don't want to.
Don't ask me how I know this.

+1 Not only do they block sound well, but I have worn them comfortably for 4-5 hours straight.

Yes they do. You measure your ear and compare it to a chart they have to determine the size you need.

My insurance through work has some pretty good coverage for hearing. I was able to go to a hearing specialist and get some in-ear electronic plugs that are based on a mold of my ear canal.

Without insurance I'm sure the cost would be up there, but you might check and see if you have some sort of coverage just in case.

Stay in without issues. They are comfortable as well. I do insurance inspections, and will occasionally inspect machine shops. I keep a pair of EP7's in my glove box for those inspections.

Does anybody have any experience with the Sportear Ghost Stryke? They seem to have good reviews.
