I have a Ruger SP101 that I put trigger springs and shims in. Now the cylinder latch releases too quickly before the cylinder starts to turn and the gun locks up. I don't know what I did wrong but I can't figure out how to fix it. Everything works likes it's supposed to until I put the hammer assembly in and then the problems starts. If I twist the cylinder just right when I pull the trigger all works well and some times I can get it to work like it should but right now I only have a pretty paper weight.
SO now I give up and need a professional or a least someone with a lot more intelligences than I have. Who do you recommend?
Thanks,

Sir: We have 2 gunsmiths as sponsors. I can recommend both.

First (only because I have known him longer) is Dale at Eastcoast gun...He is good.

The other is D&R guns in Goose Creek. He has done work for me, and, on guns that I have traded for.

Either place can help you.

It almost sounds like a timing problem...but, don't know what you could have done to hurt timing...

My advice....seek help soon...

Hope this helps.

Steve

I can speak from personal experience about Dale. He performed a trigger job on my wife's SP101. The work and price were great.
