The Hamlet Squire of Tomfoolery . . .
If we're talking FIRST 1911, while not the original, mine was identical to these. I purchased the original as a 21st birthday gift to myself. It was also the first handgun I ever owned. I had it for about four years until it was thefted by some thieving thieves . . . . .

It took me about 30 years to find one that I could afford, when I could afford it. After buying the one in the front, two months later I found the one in the back.

One is my "safe queen" the other is my "rodeo queen."

@41 Charlie kinda likes these . . . .

I recently just bought my second. Nothing fancy. A RIA Tactical .45. After a trip to the range, I was very impressed with it. It's a lot of gun for the money. Plus it already comes with everything that I had to install on my Springfield, plus an ambi thumb safety

My first 1911 was a Colt Commander I traded a motocross bike for in the mid70,s. Still have it but don't shoot it anymore.
