To expand on this subject just a little.
I compete in a weekly Sporting Clays league.
There is a cash payback...depending on how many shooters there are.
The most I've won is $75, not bad for a weekly match.
Monthly registered S/C club matches almost always have cash payback.
The more people that pay in, the more there is to payout.
Its broken out by class, so the top scores dont take home all the cash.
Now the bad part; entry fees are way higher than pistol matches.
$25 for a weekly league match. $50 or more for monthly club match.
Hundred$$ for a major. Not to mention side matches. Its not unusual to pay $500+
in total entry fees at a major. If you win a 'big' prize, they may also present you with some
nice tax forms to fill out too...
