Is it typical for a manufacturer to not warranty parts if you purchase from a LGS and not directly?
I was installing a LPK and found the disconnector spring broken, and the manufacturer said they couldn't help me. I was even willing to send them the defective spring.

Why did they say they couldn't help you? It's a 99 cent spring... Who made the LPK? Maybe there are some places that piece together LPKs from bulk springs and parts and try to pass them off as X brand LPKs and that's why they won't warranty it? Still, if I were a parts manufacturer I'd send you the spring.

On the positive side, it's only a 99 cent spring and can be ordered from many sites.

They said that since I bought it from a third party, meaning my gun dealer, and not directly from them, they cannot help me. So, take it back to dealer, he sends it to them, they send it back to him, I go back and get it. I know I can get one, but I thought it would be a lot easier. The real vibe I got was that they were just too busy to deal with a .99 cent spring...
Company is PSA
