I have a couple of C Products AR mags that I feel have issues. The current format allows for the mag to over-travel unless inserted at a fairly slow speed. I'm certain the locking tabs need a different shape, and possibly the notch. I think I can just flare the tabs out a bit and fix these defects, but I wonder: Are there tools for redimensioning AR mags, or do I have to make my own?

It was the upper ramped section of the mag catch notch that caused the problem. It's not on USGI mags or PMAGs, maybe not on any other mags. What a turd.

By chance do you have pics of the before and after if you modified them?

I haven't done it yet, but now that I know what I'll be doing, I'll take before and after pics. I have to make a jig to work as an anvil inside the magazine without damaging the mag, so I'll put that up too. It will probably be at least another week, if not two or three, as I'm pretty busy.
