Hey guys,

I have a Saginaw M1 Carbine that my father gave me and I've fired it a lot a few years back and I stopped once I saw a crack on the flat bolt. I've also tried to chamber a round and it gets hung up and won't properly chamber a round. Also, if I place a round just in the breach, it doesn't look like the bolt seats flush.

Here's the only photo I have at the moment and I was wondering if you guys may have some advice for me.

If you are in or around the Summerville area. Bring it by East Coast Guns and let Dale the gunsmith take a look. He's worked a few of these..

I'm guessing that the extractor is in a bind (because of the crack) and not moving over the rim of the case. Looks like you need a new bolt, which isn't a problem, however head spacing may be. That would require the removal of the barrel and some specialized tools. E-mail me at [email protected] or bring it by the shop and I'll make some phone calls.
