m&p change their mag bases?

Just bought a pro and noticed the bottom of the mag bases wont work with my 4.25 inch m&p mags. Are they changing all of them to this? Im needing to know cause I want to change my new mags to the compact m&p bases, but it appears if they changed them they wont work. any body know whats going on?
