Hey guys, know there's quite a few M&P fans on here so would appreciate any feedback. Decided to get an MP Pro 9 to shoot production (thanks to B.S.DuBois for finding me a great deal on one) and took it out this weekend for the first few times. Love the feel & action of the gun but past 10 yds. it hits low and I have to compensate by aiming high, seems the greater the distance the lower it shoots. In today's steel match it was so bad that at 15-20 yds. I was actually losing sight of the plates (obstructed by the slide) having to aim above them for a hit. Thought maybe it was me pulling the muzzle down or something but the RO took a few shots and hit low also. Just wondered if anyone else has experienced this with this gun or has any suggestions. Since there's no vertical adjustment on the rear sight guess I'd have to get a taller sight? The RO said to try heavier ammo instead of 115gr. so I'm going to get some 124 and 147 gr. to try from the bench next week but not sure how much difference that will make.

I thought mine was low - left, or low left, but it was all me - we did some bench shots and they were pretty much dead on. As for 7-10 yards vs 25 yards, I still dont know where it is Zeroed - Rifles are really easy to tell, handguns still throw me thru a loop.

hope that helps

Was this the first time you've shot in 3 months?? Maybe if you would quit leaving town and come shoot in the afternoons it would fix those low shots (I type this as I sit in the airport getting ready to go out of town)

First time in 3 weeks! :P
Thanks JP aka iMacGyver, that's why I want to bench it later in the week- make sure it's not just me or mostly me...

Mine shoots to POA at 15yd, which makes it less than an inch off at 35yd by the calculator, with 124gr Precision Delta and Titegroup. "Milking down" is always suspect, particularly if it comes and goes.
However, I saw one that was seriously off with any ammo and any shooter; S&W put a new barrel in it for free. Call their customer service and get free shipping if yours proves to be defective. ;)

yup... there is like a 9 page thread on eno's about this.... alot of people all have the same problem with it shooting low... i got dawson adjustable on mine and now it shoots great... but before i did i shot my XDM at 7 yards, tore up the bullseye and then shot my M&P and it was low by over an inch at 7 yards!! had my bro shoot it, exact same thing...

I want a new front post - something super skinny, super super super skinny for those longer shots - It won't help with my flinch, but when I stop flinching, I might be able to hit the target!!

Before you go changing anything, try some 124s. Mine is the exact opposite from yours when shooting 147s. Mine is dead on at 7yds and dead on again at 50 yds. It's high everywhere in between.

Thanks! for all the replies and especially this one for directing me to Enos' forum. Lots of info over there, looks like a few have sent guns back to S&W who replaced the barrel (which doesn't always make a difference), different ammo makes some improvement, or the most popular fix is Dawson adjustable rear sights. Now I have a plan of attack and will start on the bench to make sure it's not just me, then try some 124 and 147 gr. ammo and then I guess consider the adjustable sights.
