I know that it's short notice but for those who are interested there's a "prepper" conference being held in Charleston July 20-21.
They cover topics such as organic gardening, raising chickens and rabbits, building solar panels, setting up rain barrels (at the prepper conference in Columbia we were able to purchase food grade barrels for $5 each so there may be some here too) and many other things.
