Hello, I am Mike and I live in the country north of Blanchard. I am a very avid 10mm auto fan and over half my collection is dedicated to this caliber alone. I THINK I am going to get my FFL soon, unless my employment changes. I currently have 1 class III item (AAC Pilot) and want to get some more, particularly ones that can be taken apart to clean.
I live on 10 acres and somewhat in the country. I can shoot some at my place, but don't want to shoot anything high power in the area. I am trying to get into Tri-city Gun Club. I really miss shooting clay pigeons.

I am professionally in computers and have recently built a hobby room for working on computers, and I hope to add a Dillon reloading setup in the room.

Anyway, I have lurked the forums for the past month or so and finally decided to join to see if there are any like-minded people on there.

Hey! Good to see you around.

I don't know if you'll remember me, but we met at Canadian Valley range a few years back.

Olyeller helped me with my grip at one of the OSA swap meets.

Thanks everyone!
Brent, I remember that trip. Good times! We need to do that again sometime. I remember it was dubbed "swap shoot" and there were supposed to be others bringing their shooting toys and let everyone try each others stuff. If I remember right, you drove out to the range on your motorcycle. What forums did we meet on, do you remember?

Jesse, I have been trying to get into Tri City Gun Club for a while now but they never seem to be accepting new members. I've got a few friends that go there all the time. We have put most of our money over the past 2 years into remodelling our place so I am just now getting back into shooting (couldn't have picked a worse time either with prices what they are). If anyone can get me "in' at TSGC, I would be forever grateful.

Anyone in the South OKC/ Tri-city area reload? I am going to get into reloading and I helped one summer (and the owner watched everything I did). I would like to watch and/or help someone reload so I can remember the basics. I am going to get the Lyman and Speer books when I order the reloader, but a refresher would help me remember what stuff was really needed, and what was nice to have, and what was fluff. I could pay you in brass. :-)

Welcome to BoomerShooter. I'm right on the border between OKC and Moore, just moved here from Alaska. Sucks to here about Tri Cities, I saw them online and was going to see about joining. You thinking of reloading handgun or rifle? I might be able to help with pistol reloading once I get a little more settled in.

Rob, first I will be loading the 10mm auto in bulk. After that, I plan on dialing in small batches of custom loads for my .220 Swift, .243, etc for accuracy

Also, does anyone know of a good gunsmith in the area (that isn't in H&H, or the shop on ~16th and MacArther). I used to go up to the Gun Retreat up in Edmond but they closed down some years back. I have not had good luck with 'smith's here in Oklahoma. They either have a major attitude and won't listen to what you want, or, they bang your gun around like it is a military armoury.

Mike Cyrwus (olyeller) at Accurate Iron for pistols, shotguns, and most action competition work.

Steve Baldwin, I think that's his name, at Mechanical Accuracy I've heard good things about for rifle work.

Dr. Barry Greyson is another good 'smith for 1911s.

It was Okshooters.com where we met. I'd sure enjoy shooting some of those awesome 10mm 1911s again. Have to plan way in advance; I live 3 hours away now.

I need to pracice Jesse before I shoot in any matches. I have not shot hardly anything except .22's over the past 2 years - all the money has been going to our remodel.

Brent, I actually have forgotten about that forum. It seemed like there was very little activity over there so I stopped going. I think I have several other pictures from our trip out there if you are interested. My wife got some pics (more of me, but you're in the background) and some of those caught the shell casings in the air, and partial open slide, etc.

Matches are practice my friend. It sounds like you have shot a lot more than most new shooters we see.

Perhaps Jesse. Perhaps you are right about shooting matches as practice. The last time I went to any kind of competition I went to a sporting clays place in Kansas and scored a 22/50. My friend that was with me couldn't believe it since he hunts with me. We went back to his place and used a standard thrower and shot 75-100 rounds. The next weekend we went back to the place and I shot a 46/50. I just need practice of my shooting form, before worrying about competing. I do shoot my CCW gun(s) some at the house but even that has been reduced lately.
I think when I get my reloading setup I will start back into it full-force.

Jesse, is it possible to just come and watch a match the first time?

You can always watch but we always suggest you bring your guns cause once you see it you're going to want to dive right in.
