Well since you shoot offset irons (and I am putting those.on my build) you can keep your real men man card then.

I own three brands of optics, 3- Swarovski Z6i, 5 - Burris Tac30, 1-Eotech xps2-1. I plan to upgrade that Eotech to a Leopoldo prismatic for limited division eventually.
I also have a Couple of Trijicon RMR's on pistols, a CMore STS on a predator tactical offset mount for my open rifle and two Burtis fast fire 2's in spees beed mounts on my open shotgun

On 1-6x you got the Leupold VX6 at $900 then the Bushnell and Vortex around $1200-1500 and then there the swaro batting clean up.

If this is the first AR ever I would suggest spending money on ammo first. The reason I say this is because a good shooter can shoot with optics but a great shooter can shoot well with irons as well. Spending money on ammo and putting rounds down range make a great shooter!
Than after training I would spend money on optics. At least that's what i would do. But good luck with everything and let us know what you get and how it goes!
