the wife and I are just getting going on IPSC and other shooting sports besides archery (which we've done for a while). hope to be able to get into 3 gun by next season, right now it's a little pistol shooting and hunting season! need to get some meat in the freezer. I've now participated in 4 and she has been in 1 uspsa shoot. we are looking forward to getting to know everyone.

any advice on a good starter semi shotgun would be appreciated....have champaign tastes but a beer budget w/2 kids at the house. got the handguns and ar's covered for now but don't think an 870 w/28" is gonna cut it.

Buy a Stoeger M3000 or M3500, or try to find a used Benelli M1. Sell the guns you don't shoot or carry. You can get a Benelli pump gun for a lowish price, too.

i've had a benelli nova that i couldn't hit the broadside of a barn with on clays or birds...go back to my 870 or 500 and was much more consistant....thinking about just getting a 21" turkey barrel for now, but will check into the stoeger and maybe also the cz....anyone have or had a weatherby SA?

welcome aboard
thanks Tony

Welcome to the party! The Nova can be setup to be pretty salty for 3 gun pretty easily. Id revisit that one and save your pennies for a Benelli M2

I have a CZ 712 Utility that I setup for 3 gun pretty cheap. I recommend them for somebody who doesn't want to spend the coin for a Benelli.
