Hi all,

I came here originally based on a search for three gun dry fire drills, but this looks like a very good forum, and I recognize a couple names, so I'm looking forward to exploring past conversations and adding my worthless opinion to old threads, thereby annoying members who thought they put some topics to rest by now. I'm a pistol instructor for the army's Basic Military Police Training Division, which is a pompous-sounding way of saying I try to teach young adults which end of a Beretta the bullet comes out of

I have been shooting club-level USPSA and Steel Challenge matches for a couple years, and I'm getting my feet wet with three gun. I've shot a few matches with decent standings, although stage planning is pretty tough for me. Shooting quickly and accurately is easy, which is why I love Steel Challenge, but I'm trying to figure out a system for making a plan and sticking with it after the timer beeps.

I look forward to learning and, when I'm on a topic that is in my element, informing. Based on the professional appearance and sponsor list of this forum, as well as the names of some folks who contribute to the threads, I think I've found a place with some decent information and look forward to being a part of the online community and maybe shooting with or against some of you folks in the future.

Welcome to the party! Sounds like your job is a great place to get young gun guys into competitive shooting. Make sure you check out our contingency program.

Mr Tischauser,

Thanks for the reply. I looked around at the contingency program a bit, trying to get a feel for the site. I push competitive shooting hard at the end of my classes as a way to improve proficiency. I like telling the kids they can either go out to the club every weekend and experience rejection and disappointment after blowing money on alcohol or they can spend a weekend a month blowing money on ammo, looking and feeling like slow, pickle-fingered idiots at first, but having a blast doing it and seeing their skills at dynamic target engagement progressing each time they go out.

Thanks. I hope to figure out how to run my 3G rifle even close to as well as you run yours and I look forward to one day seeing my name on the same standings list as yours. Granted, mine will be quite a bit further down the line, but that's fine. I wanted to shoot at the Generation 3 Gun match up at the lake, but I have to limit the big match fees this year to be able to justify paying the fees for the big matches next year. My accountant/boss (The wife) says I can do the Area 3 multi gun, then I have permission for next year to shoot the S&W Steel Nationals in Florida as well as try to get registered to shoot the Rockcastle Pro Am. We'll see how horribly I do there. I have been doing pretty well using a stock Bushmaster M4-gery with Aimpoint, so I am really looking forward to running that 3G. The trigger alone makes me want to make sweet passionate love to my rifle, but I'd be afraid of accidentally hitting the bolt release at the wrong moment. Ouch.

He's not talking about me.

But welcome to the party!

I blame my parents for raising someone who shows common courtesy with strangers. I don't feel like myself when dealing with people I don't know, because when I'm with my friends, I'm completely different. The more I question your competence, manhood, or sexuality, the closer you are to me as a friend. The bloodier and more painful it is, the harder I laugh. I play normal at first, mainly to avoid staying off anybody's "list". Thanks for the welcome.

Welcome! You will find everyone here is more then willing to lend a hand to help with any questions you have. As far as reviving old threads, I don't think you have to worry about that. Sit back and watch what happens next and get ready for some good laughs, threads get a little off topic every so often which ends in some good hearted fun from what I have seen.

What is a warning post? I looked for it in the search bar, but couldn't find anything. That's either because there is nothing in here about warning posts or because I'm a candidate for the "Very Special Forces". I'm thinking it's probably the latter, and I blame the leprechauns.

If you are talking about the warning points under your user name and # of posts, That's just a way for the moderators to feel powerful and give someone a warning if they get out of line

I am retarded, I guess. I thought it said warning posts, not points. Wow. No wonder I failed to engage two targets Saturday. My observational skills suck. So how many points does someone get before the mods locate the offender and tickle him?
