J-Frame

I sold my last one back in 1980 and I'll never own another. The Kahr CM9 is a helluva lot more gun, and a lot more concealable and controlable. I'd carry a good, locked breech 380, such as the Keltec, before I'd use a snubby, but I'd reload for it. Simply pull the 85 gr Silvertip WW hp, and reload it to 1200 fps. Perfectly safe in a locked breech gun, 270 ft lbs, and real expansion of the jhp in flesh. In a gun that's so small and lw that it can be hung on a necklace or put in a sleeve rig, that's not bad.

I find myself carrying my J frame more than my CW9. The CW9 is more concealable but the J is just "easier". One of these days I'm going to sell the 442 and get a LCR as they are actually fun to shoot. The J frame? Not so much, but they are just so damned easy to carry.

Very nice. I've got a 642 that is my carry gun of choice for carrying in a front jacket pocket.
I've got the same one but I don't like it in jackets. It's kind of heavy for what it is and unless that jacket is zipped, one side droops down. Front pants pocket works out swell with a pocket holster but would be impossible to draw quickly in some situations.

My 60 is a dash 1 38 special . I bobbed a hammer for it. I'm thinking it needs better stocks and a Tyler T grip.
The 40-1 is a good option... I am trying to figure out how to pin the grip safety- the latter versions don't have a pin hole and the web is not wide enough to drill like the old ones. Of course a T grip would help this one too. I LIKE to shoot J frames... and all the other Smith's....

I don't have a good picture of it, but I have a late 70s Bodyguard* that I'm told used to be a Puerto Rican police gun. Apparently Glock finally got them to trade in their old revolvers and a bunch of the surplus guns made it to Summit Gunbroker.

I put a T-grip on it and loaded it with Nyclads because old skooooooooool.

E: Also the gun I originally bid on was ugly. When I called Summit to give Mark my credit card information, dude said "oh hey I just found a much nicer Bodyguard on the pile I'll just send you that instead." Best $250 I ever spent.

*the *real* Bodyguard, not these ****ing polymer abominations that S&W is pushing now.

That's the one J-frame I want. That was a smoking deal. How long ago was that?
