I have a handful of mec gar 19 rounders that I use currently while all of my factory 16 rd mags are in my misc parts bin. wondering if anyone here has had luck increasing the capacity? what parts did you use, how many rounds do they hold and was it worth the cost?

spanks yall.

so I decided to take a hack saw to my mec-gar 19rd followers...I cut them down then cleaned up the rough edges with a razor blade. I can fit 21 rounds in them now and they run reliably. I clipped a coil off of one mag spring to see if it would help and the only thing it did was prevent the follower from locking the slide back :(

overall im happy with it and its tough to beat $0.00 for 2 extra rounds.

locking the slide back is for newbs anyway, all the cool kids set the mags up to not lock the slide.

I never understood that mod. I like to know if I run out of ammo due to my stupid lack of counting shots before I pull the trigger to a "click"

unfortunately, a lot of the race guns will lock back with a round still in the mag if you don't remove the catch from the follower. This is because the followers are so thin for max capacity in the mag. The catch isn't set deep enough down into the follower to ensure you load the last round before locking the slide.

Im a newb for sure. Also curious what the point of that is? Is it not faster to press down on the slide release than to rack it?

edit: you answered before I posted, thanks.

Glad I shoot an M&P :D
