Do you know that if all the people serious about survival on this and the other forum, Could come together in TEOFTWASKI happened. We could pretty much survive anything. think of the man and firepower we would have! if we could all get along and hold it together that is. We really do need to buy one of those old abandoned missile silos and start prepping.

Theres a couple of those down here in Greer county. Not in as good of condition as those though.

Group buy anyone? I would like to tour those things. Crazy interesting peice of American history.

they are really cool pieces of american history, you are correct. But what would be even cooler is to own and have a sweet house built in/on one of those.

Don't forget there will be hundreds of people who know about them and looking for a nice warm place to move into. Have you seen the Twlight Zone were all the neighbors practically killed each other to get into a bomb shelter? Now if you find one of those secret silos or bunkers for congressmen that has been decomessioned. Maybe with the budget shotfalls you could pick it up cheap.

We were just planning on taking over Marc Heitz chevy and turning it into a 28 days later compound.

Hey Dubs, you are thinking too far out of the box. Why not just all head to the Bunkers in Choteau? I actualy have played with a TEOFTWAWKI book were a bunch of people took refuge there.

There are also bunkers that were fallout shelters near Marble City. They were lime mines back in the day. There is enough room in one of them for an entire city to fit.

My last duty station was Ft Leavenworth Ks. Way back in the day it had some coal veins that were mined, so the old steam ship paddle wheel boats that ran the Missouri river stopped there for fuel. The coal played out, and the mines were abandoned.
During the Cold War, the mines were opened up for Civil Defense shelters. They were big enough that the entire city of Leavenworth could go inside, and live for awhile with the supplies inside.
I Don't know if they have been abandoned or not, but it was quite the place in the day.

Huh? I know what bunkers you are talking about. But there is a book with them? or you were writing one? either way more info!

Some friends and me were talking about stuff, half joking half seriously, and we came to the conclusion that they would make a perfect meeting place for a large group of people. I tried starting a book with that as the premise, didn't get very far as I can come up with great plots and such, but can't make it flow.
