Illinois Republicans are organizing a petition drive to block the release of information about people authorized to have guns. GOP Party Chairman Pat Brady announced the petition Wednesday. It comes after Democratic Attorney General Lisa Madigan's public access counselor ruled that names of Firearm Owners Identification cardholders are public information.
