The barrel was cut on an bandsaw, then the cut off piece was heated to loosen the front sight, it was silver soldered on. A file was used to knock the sharp edge off the outside of the barrel and a chamfer tool was used inside the barrel. The front sight was put back on with some industrial epoxy and it needs to be filed down some as it shoots too high right now.
Cosmetically, the revolver had a lot of wear to the finish so I didn't mind changing things up a bit. It would have been harder to do on a nice gun. LOL Overall, I'm pleased with the way it turned out. It fits right in my J frame pocket holster but is noticeably heavier than my J frame. I think it's those big ol' slugs in the .44 that does it.
